Science for children Indonesia is considered as a difficult and boring subject. Why do kids think like that? One factor is the teacher does not understand how to teach science interactively. To that end, Science and Space Center of LAPAN in Bandung (24/9) held a Science Teacher Workshop. The workshop is part of The 2012 ISWI & Magdas School on Space Science and attended by 40 teachers from various regions in Indonesia.
The participants are given the knowledge and skills to teach the magnetic field, the solar magnetic field, solar activity, rockets, and light source fingerprints. Science teaching skills training was given by Deborah Scherrer of Stanford University and David Rondrigues of AstroWizard. Both are representative of the Scientific Committee on Solar Terrestrial Physics (SCOSTEP). Scherrer said SCOSTEP was producing comics science, which has been translated into many languages, including Indonesia. He hopes the comic science are simple, fun, and exciting this will increase the students' love of science.
